Tooth Colored Adhesive Fillings
Newer tooth colored fillings are essentially super-glue for teeth. The puddylike filling material is adhered to tooth structure making it stronger. From small fillings to large ones, the adhesive filling material, when placed properly, is a stronger option over silver fillings. Peridontal Cleanings (deep scaling/cleaning)
This occurs when a gum infection grows past the gum tissue and into the bone that holds our teeth in place. The infection maintains the same painless nature of gingivitis. The damage caused however is much more severe. With professional dental care this infection can be halted and healed so that teeth are often maintained. Left alone periodontal disease will lead to permanent tooth loss. Bridges
A dental bridge is the time tested method for replacing 1-4 teeth in any location of the mouth. These permanently cemented pieces provide fantastic esthetics and function. They can, however, create some cleaning and maintenance challenges. The best replacement option would be discussed between you and Dr. Riggs. Root Canal
After a tooth has experienced too much damage (decay, fracture, grinding) the living nerve buried deep inside your tooth may die. This may be a painless or painful scenario. A Root Canal procedure is a way to remove the nerve, and pain, from an affected tooth and allow you to keep it in your mouth. Tooth Whitening
Whiter teeth make you want to smile more! Since it's inception, tooth whitening has proven safe and not damaging to enamel. There are a variety of techniques to achieve a desired new whiter smile. Each one can be discussed, and which may better suit you. Children's Dentistry
With the new tooth colored fillings, pediatric dentistry has been made much easier! Today children do not undergo the same work, you received, when you were a child! Because of the vast changes we stress that you not introduce any bad thoughts to your children. Dr. Riggs ensures that children are involved in their own care. Working individually with children we’ve found that kids who are involved and educated are not anxious or scared. Dentures/Removable Dentures
For existing denture patients Dr. Riggs will help you maintain your current plate. From time to time new fabrications may be necessary and will be managed as needed. |
Routine Cleanings (prophy)
Gingivitis – a painless gum infection that affects most adults to some degree. This is our main target for patients who receive a routine cleaning. As there are many different people in the world each person has unique and specific needs for their dental care. The necessary cleaning recommendation will be discussed with you at your initial visit. Crowns
Crowns are a structural “hat” for teeth that are severely broken down. The crown covers the entire tooth allowing it to withstand all normal biting activity. Dr. Riggs will only recommend a crown to restore a tooth when all other options have been exhausted. Implants
Dental implants are a surgical grade titanium post that supports an artificial tooth. They are the most natural way to replace a missing tooth. This process involves the teamwork of an oral surgeon and Dr. Riggs. From one to an entire mouth of teeth, implants are a replacement for years to come. Veneers
Don’t like the shape or shade of your front teeth? Veneers can alter both. Veneers are a thin layer of tooth colored porcelain custom made for each tooth. Veneers provide a lasting, no color fading option to enhance the shape and shade of your teeth. Grinding/Clinching TMJ
Due to our busy lives and schedules many of us get and feel stress. One coping mechanism that our body deals with this stress is by grinding or clinching our teeth. It is a very normal and common problem. Be it due to a house renovation or job stress there are ways to manage the symptoms and can be discussed with you. Conservative measures will always be sought first with this type of malady. Orthodontics
The need for braces to straighten teeth can come at any age. From 10 to 70 years of age, Dr. Riggs stresses that straight teeth are not for “esthetics only”! Straighter teeth allow for better hygiene and function so that you’ll have teeth for a life-time. Minor corrections may be handled at our office but more complicated full orthodontic needs will be referred to one of our local specialists. |
IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT ANY DENTAL FILLING, CROWN, PROSTHETIC ETC…IS A WEARABLE ITEM. NOTHING IS PERMANENT NOR LASTS FOREVER. DR RIGGS WILL ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN ANY RESTORATION FOR AS LONG AS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE.
